Overview
The Linguistics Collection is comprised of index and full-text databases covering all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. The collection includes:
- Linguistics & Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA), which abstracts and indexes the international literature in linguistics and related disciplines in the language sciences.
- Linguistics Database, which includes full-text journals and other sources in linguistics including many titles indexed in LLBA.
- LLBA assists both generalists and specialists in keeping abreast of cutting-edge developments in disciplines concerned with the nature and use of language.
- The collection covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. Complete coverage is also given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical, and applied linguistics.
- The collection includes a thesaurus for precision searching that retrieves accurate, focused results. Search this collection for 15 highly relevant articles rather than 150 irrelevant ones.
- The collection covers articles, books, and dissertations and is inclusive of all scholarly literature published in the field. Inclusion of dissertations means users can keep up with original research. Articles included cover global research from 1973 to current.
- Over 500,000 records from over 1,500 journals and other serial publications are indexed, as well as books, book chapters, and dissertations.
