Oren Beit-Arie is President of ProQuest Books and Chief Strategy Officer. Oren enjoys cooking, and loves open-air food markets: the colors, the liveliness, the people, and the exciting opportunities that fresh ingredients offer.

Oren has vast experience in operations, product management and strategy. He is one of the primary developers of the ANSI/NISO Z39.88 (OpenURL) standardand has led the development ofSFX link-resolveralong with a range of other solutions in the realm of electronic scholarly resources, including bX, a usage-based article recommender. He was also one of the original visionary minds behindProQuest Rialto, a pioneering selection and acquisition service for academic libraries.

Oren joined ProQuest from Ex Libris, a ProQuest Company. In his role as Chief Strategy Officer for Ex Libris, Oren focused on strategic developments and new product initiatives. He led the vision and creation of the company’s next-generation library services platform, including thePrimo discovery solution Alma, the cloud-based unified resources management solution, andEsploro, the new research services platform.

Oren earned a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Hebrew University and an MA in Theoretical Linguistics from Tel Aviv University. He is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
