The next phase of Intota: delivering Interlibrary Shared Resource support

Are you one of the many libraries operating in a shared environment who want to simplify your e-resource management so you can have the flexibility of centralized acquisition and management for discovery? Then the next release of Intota will help make life at your library easier! The next release of Intota v1, arriving at the end of September allows libraries that jointly purchase or license resources to share resources such as databases and holdings without having to key in redundant database or license information. If your library uses Intota’s newest capabilities then shared resources (database and holdings) will automatically flow to discovery services without any mediation, delivering uninterrupted user access to new resources. Manager libraries can share resources with all, none, or only some of their member libraries. Member libraries may “opt in” and automatically receive all shared resources, or member libraries may review shared resources and make a decision on each. Member libraries users can even elect to receive email notifications when a new resource is shared. Many libraries can take advantage of efficiencies gained from sharing electronic resources between a main library and medical, law or business libraries.
