Learners and researchers alike leverage the large-format scanning and digital print production environment housed@One

The @One floor (Learning Commons) actively serves the research and multi-literacy needs of today's digital environment

Hands-on training labs meet needs ranging from library workshops and classroom instruction to multi-player computer gaming events.

While building operations staff engineer a holiday “book tree” in the middle of the atrium of the library, the perimeter is alive with learning and research activity; a staff member on the fourth floor of the library commented “it’s like being in the middle of a giant think tank!”

Beyond office hours, a number of teaching faculty regularly schedule class meetings in the open spaces of the library.

Mid-semester, the library recently held a "Play Day" to encourage students and faculty to let off steam; activities included a bean-bag toss, miniature golf, and a nerf-gun target range lining the walkway

During the event, a "real-life angry birds" and paper airplane construction/flying event events took place on one end of the breezeway...

while a concert took place simultaneously in the rotunda on the other end of the breezeway. One observer noted “there’s a lot more going on in the library than just books.”
