ProQuest continues to make enhancements to the researcher experience that strengthen the library’s role in the research process by delivering improved access to full text content.

On March 20, we released a new 360 Link user interface with integratedIndex-Enhanced Direct Linkingthat improves linking reliability and eliminates the most common confusion points for end-users when linking to full-text content. The new 360 Link user experience is mobile friendly and offers more customization options for libraries – including client configurable custom links, and a choice of using an intuitive Sidebar Helper frame or highly configurable full-link resolver menu. The Sidebar Helper frame, soft launched to customers in August 2014, is now used by more than 300 libraries.

These developments represent a new 360 Link user experience that will improve user satisfaction and give the library new opportunities to engage with end users.

The newly-designed 360 Link now incorporates Index-Enhanced Direct Linking (IEDL) into all 360 Link results pages to dramatically improve linking reliability, beyond a sole reliance on OpenURL technologies. (Click hereto learn more about IEDL.)

Users will be able to take advantage of the following new interface options:

-- Index Enhanced Direct Linking with all settings
-- Sidebar Helper frame or Full results menu display options
-- Mobile-friendly responsive design
-- Client configurable custom links, including unique custom links by language interface
-- Intuitive new page designs, with easy to identify "full text" button, improved “no results” handling, and other highly configurable page options
-- Google Books preview
-- New email, export, problem reporting, and chat features
-- New optional integrated interlibrary loan form
-- More branding and customization options, including mobile branding

Libraries simply login to the Client Center administrative console to begin configuring and opting in to using the latest 360 Link features and functionality. Changes go live when you choose to active them. There is no need for a lengthy re-implementation or migration to take advantage of all that 360 Link has to offer. This enables libraries to deliver a more modern and reliable user experience with just a few mouse clicks.
